Consultancy services
Energy Statements - We specialize in writing supporting reports for planning applications in which there is a requirement for renewable energy provision. The process involves client meetingsand data collection in which the most suitable Renewable Energy Systems are established based on site and design considerations. We aim to incorporate the most up-to-date installer led pricings so that the client receives the most realistic quote for the cost of these systems.

Design for sustainability - Energy Efficiency advice and passive solar design If involved at the design phase of a development there is the highest likelihood of creating energy efficient constructions which work well with the Renewable Energy Systems that are most suitable. We offer a face to face service in which an associate would join the design meetings and offer advice on the effects of orientation, form, fabric and design considerations and how they would impact on the thermal performance of the building as well as any specific considerations for incorporation, housing of and maximizing the potential of Renewables.

Thermal modeling of design– in order to specify Renewables the energy demand profile of the building must be ascertained. This can be done using benchmark data of similar usage types, with SAP calculations or by conducting a full computer thermal simulation. The latter is the most accurate way of modeling the actual performance of the Renewable Energy Systems as incorporated in the building. We use a number of accredited software packages (and some of the most experienced and innovative building physics
experts) as well as our own software tools developed by our associates. We are also involved in modeling the performance of Renewable Energy Systems when incorporated in developments overseas. Current and recent projects include places such as China, Russia and the Carribean.

EcoHomes and BREEAM assessments– we offer a full service of EcoHomes and all aspects of BREEAM assessment facilitated via an associate organization PDM Consulting. This can be as part of a whole package or as an individual assessment. As the latter we would put you in direct contact with PDM or manage the project for you as you prefer.

New Part L submissions – there is currently no accreditation for submissions under part L2 but Enso Associates are in contact with CIBSE regarding the new ‘Low Carbon Consultants’ scheme. We have recently run iSBEM familiarization training workshops in London. In the same we we work with PDM for BREEAM we have can also facilitate accredited *SAP* assessments.

Building performance monitoring– we are proud to associates ourselves with an expert in thermal imaging, pressure testing, tracer gas air change measurement and air quality measurement, essential for analysis of the performance of buildings ‘in-use’.

Ecological investigation – within all *EcoHomes and BREEAM *schemes there is a requirement to involve a registered Ecological Consultant and as such we have worked with several highly respected and professional companies and individuals. As above we would put you in direct contact with them or manage the project
for you as you prefer.

Installation – we are proud to be able to recommend a number of accredited, experienced and reliable contractors and installers of Renewable Energy Systems of all types. All of them local, responsible and conscientious.

Business case for sustainability – one of our associates is at the forefront of research (and regularly gives lectures and CPD talks) into the financial benefits of sustainability in construction.
